Q: That's bad if she is not what u think she is.

I mailed out one of the card packs (to New York) and a Nyan cat plush toy (to Sunnyvale, California) today. Learning something new every day; found out that it is much easier and cheaper to print out the shipping label from the websites themselves. Went to CVS to use free $2 coupon; gained a toothpaste and conditioner, both at trial-sizes of course. On the way home, I stopped by McDonald’s to check on the Happy Meal toys. New cycle is not out yet. Bought myself some dollar foods and headed to the second floor. A black, chubby girl came upstairs ten minutes later and asked if she could sit at the same table with me. I was on the phone with a friend, so like any other good-natured human, I allowed her so. Big mistake.

The girl stared at the few patrons around the table, including myself. I was trying hard to ignore her stares. They were pretty intense, the kind that read desperation. As I finished my little pack of fries and was ready to tackle the McDouble, I stopped to realize that my appetite had left me. I gave the burger away. Honestly, I couldn’t have felt any more better by doing so. She saved me 600 calories and I may have earned myself enough Karma points for the week.

A friend chided my response to the situation. He said that I am positively encouraging her to leech off customers. I did not disagree with him because it’s true. She will learn to come back to the same McDonald’s and repeat the behavior because it had produced good outcomes in the past. But, it is hard to tell who’s at fault or not when the intention is to help others. And dare I say, if anything, the staffs at that McDonald’s branch should take the blame. Knowing that this was happening to their patrons, they did nothing. Sigh, lesson learned again.

Doggie bag,
