One Minute A, Next Minute B
- Capricious and downright fickle-minded. Trust on me when I say that she changes her mind every minute or so. For example, we have decided one morning that she will not cook for the day. I’ve triple checked with her before heading to the Farmer’s Market. She watched me buy my food, and yet said nothing. But she bought fresh mutton, only to then decide that she’ll cook lunch when we get back home. I swt because I had in my hands lentil soup and fresh vege wraps.

Lesson
learned: The only way you deal with unpredictable weather is to never trust the
forecast.

Stick to the Kitchen
- Awesome cook! She has made so many South Indian cuisines that I simply made her the designated cook. This decision saves me time and money anyway, hence I won’t ever complain about having to do the dishes. From curries to dhals, chapatis and kacang putih-like snacks, you’ll have to get her to name these dishes! All that’s important to me is that those things make my taste buds dance. Definitely beats any of the Indian cuisine places here in Baltimore. They got nothing on her.

Lesson

Indian Ambassador
- She’s a proud Indian. It is especially telling when she talks about arrange marriages, the caste system and Bollywood. She tries really hard to make me like Indian culture; from the food (refer to point 4), to the music, movies and even the language. While my love for all things Japanese remained strong, I have gained a sense of respect for South India. If only she stopped looping her favorite songs…
