Last day of work this year. I want to be away from the institute for a good two weeks. Needed time to readjust life and to reconnect with people that matters. My American colleagues are a little difficult to approach at times, but I am getting there bit by bit. As each weekends pass me by, I realized people might be leaving my side again. All I have left of the semester is two finals; one's a take home too. No matter, I am glad I have some time left till 2012 ends. If you're wondering what my plans are for this break, I can tell you that I have nothing. Perhaps I would go visit the Walters Art Museum and the National Aquarium, been meaning to do that since I got to Baltimore. Plus, I may have a guest staying over for a week. She could very well be my travel partner and I am totally cool with that.
Finally gave the mail lady a Christmas card and I learned that her name is Arnetta. Honestly, the prettiest name I've heard since JackieRose, who happens to be a Hopkins student rooming with CarmenS. Anyway, my mail lady is quitting after December. As shocking as it gets, I had to make peace with the news of no longer having my mail delivered to my room. She wasn't happy with her boss and co-worker, which was enough to make her quit the job and I respect that decision. I got a bear hug from her and honestly, I'll miss her presence once she's gone I'm sure. Especially when I walked to the entrance of the building in the late evenings, to see her smiling and waving from the mail room. I suppose she was something that I looked forward to as I return to an empty apartment. And thanks to her, my transitioning has been well.
What are the odds,
