Q: No, they've been doing the same thing for 20 years.

It was fun to mess with my Managing Director. This morning at the elevator, I accidentally close the door on her by pressing the "Close Door" button. Seriously tho, she shouldn't get on it because the box was crammed with clean cut employees and one very cute six year old. The little thing is the daughter of our Coordinating Director, and she was holding onto my hand. There ain't much space to be honest, though it might easily fit her due to her petite physique. But the look on MD's face was one of bewilderment, and I believe one of my colleague gave me a somber pat on the back as we walked out on our level.

I ran quite a cold sweat there as I pondered the choice of waiting for her to get up or to wait a bit only to see her in the meeting room, probably pursing her lips tight to a corner. But Madeline was tugging at my pants, waiting to follow me into the office. Putting her before everything else, I decided to bank the on MD's forgiving nature and ushered Madeline along to a small tall chair in my cubicle. Her father will be busy the whole day and would need a temporary sitter. When we were lined up to be chosen, Madeline walked towards me and held my hands, smiling at her daddy. Such effect can be brought on from just one Japanese candy.

There was still tons to do, and I was doubting if Madeline would come to loathe her time with me. So I kept her busy with an iPad I got from my neighboring cubicle buddy. Satisfied, the child touched the screen away, giggling now and then from the fishes swimming away from her fingers. Then a message came on the screen.

"What was that about?"
"What about what?"
"At the elevator."
"Ah, I pressed the close button instead of open button purely by accident."
"I hope it isn't because you were sulking."

Huh? She must be kidding me. I am not a child to be getting mad over a certain unpaid notice to spend overtime at her department.

"If you'd excuse me, I have to entertain Madeline. -..-"

A flustered MD bought me Daidomon for lunch and lil Madeline loves grilled pumpkin.

Fuyohh,
Vonnie S.
