Met up with NatalieK, CY and JoyceO at Sushi Zanmai for
dinner. Nat was always the earliest; booking a table for us located nicely near
the belt. I literally saw her walked into the restaurant, but the line was
obstructing my approach. More importantly, I came second; lucking out on having
to buy all four of us the dinner. Nat and I were having a good ol chat session
about all things yaoi and grad school when Joyce strode in a rather sloth like
manner. She was tired, easing her way into the seat without many words. Sensing
a weaker energy, Nat and I took the chance to size her up. Physically, we’re
both overwhelming compared to Joyce, but it was fun to mess her up mentally
too. That was when CY sneaked in amidst the commotion.
“Looks like nothing has changed since three years back,” she
said. I agree to disagree. Well, we don’t look all that different, but ‘nothing’
is just not true.
CY is working at a marketing company, giving up her
Psychology background for good. Joyce is stuck working with an HR company and
she hates doing so. Perhaps she said, a time will come when attending grad
school at Australia will do. Natalie may opt to meet me in the US next year.
Something pleasant for me to write over here should things work out. One thing
didn’t change, that I would agree. We were back chattering away like it was
just another Amg meeting. A time I wish I can return to, if possible, once in a
while to escape these brutal times ahead.
Butter fingers,
