Going out these days can really burn not just a hole, but your whole wallet (or purse, your pick). Prices on items faced much steeper increase and it is largely contributed by the fact that there are demands from the public at large. Generally drinks hardly stand at a ringgit, nowadays, even plain water comes at sixty cents (at Papa Rich), when back then, it used to be twenty cents. The Malaysian youths learned fast, at least trying to not repeat the mistakes of their parents and ancestors alike, by providing much of the buying power and enjoying life while paying little mind on saving. This is not necessarily a bad thing; this change brought on a shift in business styles as well. However, I may have resented the increase in quaint cafes and dessert shops simply because it means I have to put more laps into swimming.
