As this one loose screw on the chair continuously harass my jeans, I will document this happy day on a note that promises not one bit productivity on the academic side, but a whole lot of travelling hours spent on the bus. Strictly speaking, the day began with a one hour ride to my campus. My cellphone chose this very day to fail on me, and very successfully it did to shake a rather sleepy me. Anyway, HJ was patient, sitting prettily at the bus stop while I on the other hand, suffered apologetic facial expressions I can never conjure unless I am in that sorry state. She made me pick between sugar cane or chrysanthemum tea. Which did you think ended in my bag? Go!
On the way there, she made me hold her hands. Her reasoning faulted the fall winds, its dry bitter touch that dehydrated her skin, thus resulting in a cut on the back of her palm. I did't blame her, even I enjoy sandwiching my palms against the side of my cheeks on a cold day. Unfortunately I was most certain my hands had seen better days, now stretched from the lack of moisture, it begged for a layer of lotion (I made another sorry face for I had none on). "So stress, just thinking about tomorrow." I couldn't agree more.
Seton Radiology Center is within proximity of the Saint Agnes Hospital. We were to have our chest scanned against our will, for our PPD tests came back positive and I have but little bright thoughts to slitter away from this "standard" procedure. I liked this hospital though. I will say so because of the particularly fast service, how straight-forward the system works and for an instance, the place had me experience a flashback to one particular corn maze in Michigan. Crazy huh?
After a series ofinterrogation personal questions, we need not wait long before a nurse appeared to slaughter our names to an audience of old folks. "Ji-when sing. Lim-hue-gin." I swear... I can tell you this. Xray is not the most comfortable thing in the world. You are butt naked (well, we needed to remove only our tops), with nothing but a gown separating your skin from being in contact with the hospital air. As awkward as it sounded, the session swiftly met its closure as we walked out happy as children on sugar. Got back to campus and had True Grits Friday specials for lunch with SoraK.
Then, I was alone with Chai. We talked for a good two hours on nothing but relationships. Yup.
My journey home included a stop at the Dollar Tree (to pick up on some cards, one chopping board and ziplock bags), Godiva boutique (to collect my one free chocolate raspberry truffle) and Corner Cafe (to have a free bacon mac and cheese for dinner). Guess who was at my door upon home? The cute Hopkins boy. And uh-huh, today is a happy day indeed.
