Q: Is that your man?

Terrible weekend: One critique, one midterm exam, and two assignments all due next week. On top of that, there are four journals and one chapter reading extra on the side. And I ask myself right now what I am doing, what am I watching and why is a Gintama episode more important than completing these tasks? Well, I then convinced myself that an hour break for dinner is significant to study time. One cannot focus with an empty stomach. And since I stopped questioning myself, I procrastinated again. May I get through at least two journals by midnight?

Tsk...VivianI, you are dead wrong. ChaiS is definitely not my boyfriend. T-T

Fix the breaks,

Q: I hope we can make a long time swaps.

Snow day! Although there isn’t much to shout about, except for the strong winds and rain, I don’t see more than an inch of snow outside. Apparently, the Floridians at my workplace over exaggerated this snow storm. Perhaps it’s because they are from the south, a place where snow is only portrayed in storybooks and Christmas. Yesterday, they talked about how Hurricane Sandy was nothing, and yet they fear snow blizzards. I can relate to that somewhat, two years in Kalamazoo had taught me to take on a polar bear composure, playing it cool in cold temperatures. Right now, for the city to cry over this sleet of snow is a laughable matter in my opinion. Probably not for the rest of them who came from warmer spots. Actually, I am originally from a tropical country to begin with. I suppose both extremes shouldn’t bother me by now. But hell ya, I’ll take one day holidays anytime of the year regardless whether it’s hot or cold.

Yes then you’re no,

Q: You psychology ma..people always say you read minds!

Having a midnight chat with some friends. It’s funny how things are right now. These people are not individuals I talk to every single day. Well, save for PJ, we’ve been pretty much on Skype for hours on end since this semester started. I have reasons, and I suppose one can’t hold a fire against him too long. Besides, people do grow kinder after living alone for a while. I am probably an example of that phenomenon. Why, I would have been mighty displeased had I been myself a year back. Why should I give time to someone who doesn’t even care about me? Out of pity, or was it out of gratitude, I really can’t tell. But, I’m being the bigger person at this moment.

Story goes, this once close friend of mine (of course, the friendship isn’t as strong anymore due to history) decided to initiate a conversation with me. That doesn’t sound the least problematic right? Sure, but I sensed awkwardness as we haven’t been in touch for more than a year now. And, the reason she contacted me was simply to ask this one question: What do you think about me?

Are you kidding me? Is this some kind of joke? I wonder why she’s even studying Psychology right now. Before I let my anger get the hella ahead of me, I want to reassure you that I did not have (thoughts of strangling her) the heart to take it out on her. Oh, but it was on a psychology war using words alone. You can be your own judge as to whether what I said is right. I don’t ever have to convince you.

[To be honest, the reason why I said I am not qualified is because people can change over time. I have not been talking to you nor stay anywhere physically near enough to observe, yet alone judge. (…)
And in all seriousness, I really don’t think I can objectively judge someone. No one can do that without certain biasness. (…) Also, one last thing. Ask that question to people who really matters to you and who you spend most time with. Otherwise, it would be one heck of a pointless survey. Depending on your subject pool, results can be skewed. Psychology thought me that.]

Q: Don't think he have the balls...need you to pass message.

“Please have faith, Zinaida. No matter what you did, regardless of how I have been mistreated…I’ll forever love you…and adore you.”

Turgenev’s First Love is a strong recommendation of mine for several reasons. One; in reminisce of one’s first love, more so for those who had a bad experience with it. But in all honesty, we have such soft spots for our firsts. Deep down inside, you know that his/her presence meant a lot to have taught you such feelings to begin with. It could have been anyone, but that one person had to be your first. Ah, such sweet misery within one’s heart abates year by year, yet the memory continues to haunt relentlessly despite changing hands.

Two; this tale is a testament to what I mean by emotion being hardly a singular matter. First love, simply put is bitter sweet like a hot cup of tea during winter, so warm and comforting that it puts a smile on your face and that in itself is happiness. When you’re in a fit of anger, it is most likely due to disappointment, or grief. Hence, love can be a double edged sword. And depending on the wielder, the power of such weapon meets a choice to protect or to harm another. That is why more often than not, a parent canes a child out of love. This story would raise your hope and proceed to tear it, even so, you will still be given a choice to hate or move on.

(I could list more, and it would still do no justice to First Love. Just read the goddamn book already, you lazy bum.)

This tale written in 1860 reverberates to those who live in the present, despite nearly two centuries after, and will continue to hold true for those in the future. So as long as humans have rooms in their hearts for another, regardless of the number, love will persist through time.

Q: I know it isn't gonna be easy, but I know it's gonna be worthwhile.

Sometimes it pays to have an elder sibling, minus the fact that you might get bossed around. But if you’re lucky, he or she will relieve you of annoying problems and you need not even say thank you after all that. I have decided to get an NYC map for my lil brother as he would have to take my parents around in May while I struggle at finals. Not that he lacks the sense of direction, I know for the fact that he’s incapable of deciding things early. I am no different; however he’s twice the klutz I am. Hence, this effort I planned on getting him prepared to do this task; a map highlighted in purple and yellow of tourist attraction spots and restaurants. All that’s left for the kid is the hotel. There shouldn’t be any complaints now, right?

Coolness! I’ve been approved to give away books on the 23rd April.

Q: Ini poser punye orang...

Back to childhood and loving it!
Check out these stickers I got for free. No, I didn’t harass some kids for them. I relieved a friend this burden and took it upon my own for future purposes. I’m sure a dull letter could use some color and since I’m on the postcard hobby now, it makes more sense to have these lying around to help fill up spaces within sentences. If you fancy any, just drop me a pm and I’ll gladly hook you up with a nice card. J

Q: You mean the end of the world? o.o

Neopets started a new plot. I won’t lie; besides, Tyrannia is in need of a serious makeover anyway. What better way to do that than to have all Neopians participate in an all-out war among clansman. I have never heard of those groups prior to this installment (except for the Thieves). But since the strange obelisk appeared on the abandoned prehistoric plateau, everyone wants a piece of the cake. So we’re dragged into the mess, bribed by promises of a shiny trophy and bags of bonus items. Funny how I get caught along such novel events, and played for the heck of it. Already the second wave hits, and I’ve cleared the mission within minutes. My pets are pretty imba for these weaklings, especially since they auto heal after winning a match. I suppose each group is pretty much equally distributed with strong players, but since familiarity beckons the majority, I picked to join Kanrik the Thief. Sounds way cooler than the lot, or you may say I was simply jumping on the bandwagon. Tsk, better than The Sway. What the heck does such a name imply to begin with? I shall refrain myself from making any inappropriate jokes here. Just in case any of you Neopians out there start hazing.

Third wave mai!
