Q: And idk what I'll do without you

It was Saturday, our few Malaysian buddies graduated with splendor, relieved that they were finally done with studying, or perhaps some have greater interest to go beyond that. SaiYi was in her ash black robes, and wearing the mortar board with the golden yellow tassel, a smile was on her face. Ah…despite the falling snow and the white sky, it was a great day. I missed her graduation ceremony (it would probably be something I would regret later on in life, but then again circumstances kept harking me back, stating that it would have been better this way), but went to see her at least after that. Pretty reluctant to if you ask me, because looking at all these happy people, it just strikes a chord of melancholy music, somewhere deep inside, you realized that they would soon leave this cold nowhere to live their dreams.

ScottS and family had a Christmas party. I went there without much thought, bringing along my The Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures for the Dirty Santa game. It’s just an exchanging gift ceremony with a twist to it, you can grab opponents’ presents, with rules and regulations, of course. Don’t want it to be a brutal battle over presents now would we. We stayed there till 6am, talking about anywhere between Harvest Moon, plans, wishes, problems, and in between I get to see Mervin work on his graphic designing project. In the end, I walked home with a fluffy black Bronco pillow and my thick book will be heading to Grand Rapids with a proud new owner. Along the journey home, the colorful light decorations along the streets reminded me that Christmas was just seven days away.

It was Sunday, SaiYi was leaving Kalamazoo to Malaysia for eight months before she will be back to resume her Masters. Took me awhile for the truth to sink in; she was going home and I have one less people to prank on. I think it was for the better, the long distance and time will be testable adversaries to the ship and one can only guess where we will go from here. Then while she boarded planes, I pined for Shabu Shabu with the gang, in a much warmer place away from the snow.

Turns out she is stuck at the JFK airport at the moment. This is not pleasant; I believe her plans for surprising her family would be ruin now. *sigh* Sometimes, the greater being up there must have plans for doing this. Let’s just hope it’s something good.

Note: Troy turned into a Disco Korbat. Too colorful if you ask me. Haha^^

Q: Be Careful, Be Careful!!

B: Eh, don't leave her too long alone with him understand?
G: Huh? Why? Scared she will turn him into a chocolate and eat him?
B: Are you sure it is not the other way around?
G: *gasp* I never thought about that.
B: Exactly, that time he won't be eating Blue Bunny anymore, it will be Blue Mountain!

Q: Eh, jangan panggil saya budak kecik, saya mature okay?

Had grading session this morning. It was fun for the most part, but it was the last time our group will be together. KaraS brought some awesome cupcake but I don't wanna touch them cos I figured they'd be too sweet. The aftertaste of that would be too much to bear. Anyway, MerrilM thanked me (once again) for being the one to tell him that his name reminded people of a Pokemon. JackC was a superb CA till the end and ChrisB offered me a ride home, but I declined.

Had "to-go" Shawarma's Lamb Briyani with extra gravy, courtesy of KrugerL Saw RazeekA working there. Strange surprise if you asked me. Lucky thing the credit card machine worked. On the menu board, Malaysian Donuts went for $2.50 per ten pieces.

Had chatting session with KrugerL and KongSiew at Apt A19. I was really hungry chowing down the briyani. Talked about ShetaT and CharleneL. Damn that guy really cannot let go of that topic. *sigh*

Had ShetaT coming home to piss me off. Period.

Had the girls come over to have dinner together, watch Bambi and Bambi II, ate ice cream and go home. Spoke Bahasa Malaysia for 30 minutes, epic phail.

Had a nice long talk with Zalikha. It was no doubt, productive. Learnt a lot of things that I have failed to uncover in the longest run.

Q: Your post titles are intriguing, perplexing...

On a lighter note, allow me to talk about the simplicity and complexity of this blog - especially in its titles/subjects (however you want it to be). It intends to enlighten, share, entertain, sing, express, and sound visitors of this place amidst clouds. I shifted the way I write things as an experiment. Whether it works out or not, we shall see. Grandieur movement, let's hope so.

Mari kita talk about post titles today. It's a good start. That way, we can keep the ball rolling. Holly crap it's snowing like don't know what over here. (Okay...that was superbly random, moving on.)

The Q's at the beginning of each post was left as an acronym for your free interpretation. Three of you guessed it right; darn brilliant Oriental people with mindworks of Sudoku and Rubiks formula. See, I merely quote words off people's mouth or through their writings. I might own rights to several of them too. You'll never know which ones they are. Some quotes in which I found to be rather educational, and as remembrance, I engrave them into this blog for safekeeping. They may jolly well be related to the content of the post or fall short of that expectation, yet they still strive for atttention. Quotes are fascinating creatures of words, no? They are mind boggling, it takes time appreciating them.

Oh well, that's all I had for today. Just a clarification of things. F and S will be joining Q soon. What are those? We shall see in future posts. I'll gladly accept fan mails as usual. XD

Dedication to LP, RIP buddy.
Missing you could turn from pain to happiness, if I knew you were missing me too.
Hearing about you again made me realize time has passed us by ever so hastily. It will probably be just a matter of moments that we all will gather round that same table playing mahjong again.

Pleasant days,
Vonnie S.

Q: Sometimes I cry myself to sleep, thinking.

Too many times.

I don't know if I should tell her. Just let the cat out of the bag. Then I will feel better. But no. Everything else that I came to know of is a messy puzzle. A 180 degrees spin. I am torn between obligation, hope, and safeguarding. No one outweighs the other. I can hear the walls of my principles crumbling at its foundation. Sorry, it is my disorientated thoughts at work again. Maybe, just maybe, it's the weather. For once, I can't say for sure.

Telling is easy, or perhaps it never really has been. There is a constant fear of telling too much, or too little. To cause doubt and to enlighten of danger. Wanting to see things fall apart and to only rebuild them with your hands, yet there is a crises of conscious. A voice, no wait...two? No idea; but they bicker with extremities on what road to take when I reach a fork.

Friends, I am not schizophrenic. It's a sign of me brainstorming. It is better to let them out here. I am apologetic for the fact you had to read this. That's for certain. I sense worry and confusion in your head. Don't worry. I will be okay. It is times like this when I have to throw them out before the motherboard burns.

I thank the fact that not many people know about this blog.

With much contemplation, I decided to take "the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." Robert Frost. It's been a while.

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

My reality is different than your's.

Q: I was talking about cyberdating, not hibernating.

I am now officially obsessed over my Habitarium. This game is like the new Farmville or some sorts of Neopets. It's crazy, as you ogle at these cute Petpetpets working their butts off to please you. All you need to do is to feed them, watch over their health, and kiss them goodnight. Okay, maybe we can scratch the last one out. But yea, it's like a chore I do every time I log in online. Sad I know. I'm beginning to believe that I'm some type of sadist. Hope it's just a phase.

Facebook is no different. I tried stalling away from the good ol’ social network for awhile and it pulls me (reluctantly so) back in. Thanks to the number of religious Facebook buddies who never seize to amuse me with their nonsensical statuses and remarkable taste in videos. Not to mention, my WMU friends are super Facebook friendly too. Seriously. They are online most of their waking hours. While they are sitting opposite you, they’d try to be funny and post a comment on your Facebook wall, wishing hard that you’d take notice and reply fast enough. I have to be apologetic most of the time for failing to meet up to their expectations. I still remembered the time BrandonD fb-ed me while he was in the cubicle down at Bernhard. Now that’s really overdoing it.

Perhaps I should take a step back into my Holistic class and learn the art of leaving technology behind (just for a couple of days). Then again, I think it would be virtually impossible, if not challenging as a rule. Honestly, I participated in that pledge during my Fall semester last year, committing to disconnect myself from the world wide web for a week. I saw the things I was missing out on, yet as the week gone by, I wanted badly (almost to withdrawal stage) to be back with the crowd once more.

I am not addicted, as a radical behaviorist may point that out to you. It is failing to adhere to a commitment. Like signing up to be a volunteer, but never actually putting time in doing it. You’d rather be at home, playing the Habitarium and laughing off with the others on what ShetaT says on Facebook.

We’re cyberhyberdating for real that we lost touch with those around us. I mean I can see my friends playing their Iphones and laptops more often now than usual. We acknowledge the fact that we’re physically in the same room, yet these devices are in the way of a proper communication process. Technology has changed the face of the generation for the worse in this case.

You know…in fact, me writing this post, is an example of committing the crime as we speak.

Just keeping it real,
Vonnie S.
