Q: And idk what I'll do without you

It was Saturday, our few Malaysian buddies graduated with splendor, relieved that they were finally done with studying, or perhaps some have greater interest to go beyond that. SaiYi was in her ash black robes, and wearing the mortar board with the golden yellow tassel, a smile was on her face. Ah…despite the falling snow and the white sky, it was a great day. I missed her graduation ceremony (it would probably be something I would regret later on in life, but then again circumstances kept harking me back, stating that it would have been better this way), but went to see her at least after that. Pretty reluctant to if you ask me, because looking at all these happy people, it just strikes a chord of melancholy music, somewhere deep inside, you realized that they would soon leave this cold nowhere to live their dreams.

ScottS and family had a Christmas party. I went there without much thought, bringing along my The Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures for the Dirty Santa game. It’s just an exchanging gift ceremony with a twist to it, you can grab opponents’ presents, with rules and regulations, of course. Don’t want it to be a brutal battle over presents now would we. We stayed there till 6am, talking about anywhere between Harvest Moon, plans, wishes, problems, and in between I get to see Mervin work on his graphic designing project. In the end, I walked home with a fluffy black Bronco pillow and my thick book will be heading to Grand Rapids with a proud new owner. Along the journey home, the colorful light decorations along the streets reminded me that Christmas was just seven days away.

It was Sunday, SaiYi was leaving Kalamazoo to Malaysia for eight months before she will be back to resume her Masters. Took me awhile for the truth to sink in; she was going home and I have one less people to prank on. I think it was for the better, the long distance and time will be testable adversaries to the ship and one can only guess where we will go from here. Then while she boarded planes, I pined for Shabu Shabu with the gang, in a much warmer place away from the snow.

Turns out she is stuck at the JFK airport at the moment. This is not pleasant; I believe her plans for surprising her family would be ruin now. *sigh* Sometimes, the greater being up there must have plans for doing this. Let’s just hope it’s something good.

Note: Troy turned into a Disco Korbat. Too colorful if you ask me. Haha^^
