Preparing my journey tomorrow to Melaka with the crew members. It's a good thing to plan early so that two of your events overlap one another, collecting spoils as I go. I'd be brilliantly killing two pigs with one bird by dropping them off at Sjkc Pei Teik to sell my wares while I run errands for the company. For that, we'd save on petrol and toll just cos, company paid for them all.

I really hope our boat will sail smoothly. At least half should be gone by the time we're back to KL. For everyone's sake, let's think and pray for the best.

Q: Take as much as you like, seriously.

I was introduced a Taiwanese girl who speaks fluent English at site today. Impressive was the resume she walked in with, her job experiences amounted to three pages long. I opted to play it cool, being the earlier employee, asking her about random stuffs ranging from home to Japan. All this happening under the quiet observation of my EVP, ChiewL as she fiddled around with her mound of paper works. She sounded busy, her pen scratching the surface of the parchment like how diligent chickens are when looking for worms. What caught my curiosity were the occasional pauses between drafts, and I would see her peering at us through interval sips of her coffee. When things finally ended on a good note, the girl asked for my phone number and Facebook, to which I kindly complied. Thanking my EVP, she took heels out the door and everything was silent again in the office.

“What is your opinion of her?”
“I personally think she’s a good sport. Very approachable. But honestly, I don’t know why she keeps switching jobs every two months or so…”
“Did you notice how she was very physical with you too?”

I was dumbfounded. I did recall a light shoulder pat and pokes on the arm. Nothing more that I took note of.

“Are you for real? Even so, I’m sure it’s nothing more than cultural differences.”
“Trust me. I know many Taiwanese and none of them are like that.”
“What are you suggesting at?”
“If she text you within the hour, I’ll tell you.”

She did at 2.40pm.

Q: This sucks! They left out that important dialogue!

Today, I experimented on a dipping sauce concoction through a self-examined pressure test of the lime sauce fish dish dad loves at Thai restaurants. There lied much temptation to just Google the recipe. But I wanted to see how sensitive my taste buds are, and also simply because sometimes I feel we rely too much on sources telling us what to do that we forget to think. So I get the general ingredients like lime, garlic, and cili padi. What else, I wondered for a bit as I strolled around Puteri Mart, looking at the fresh veggies and the friendly auntie with a transparent shower cap on. Don’t ask me why she’s wearing that. Logically speaking, I believe it is to avoid strands of her hair falling onto her wares. She didn’t need to go that far; I mean we all wash our veggies before the wok, right? Maybe it’s to hold onto her hair that’s all, besides I’m thinking way deeply into something that’s even irrelevant.

In the back of my mind, I know that fish sauce is the essence of Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. Into the basket that bottle went. Ah, what’s a fish dish without the fish itself; a medium sized garoupa cost me RM46. I even bagged six squids for the next day’s dinner. Not forgetting two heads of garden lettuce to wrap them all up in. Dad would like that.

For dinner that night, the fish turned out delicious! A try and error process, but tasted splendid once I add a tablespoon of sugar into the mixture. And it goes along with strips of fried omelette and long beans.

You know what… I believe everything in this world happens for a reason. The reason is one that follows the law of physics and yet defies logic. It’s a given that I’m no genius in this lifetime, but when your client is being exceptionally good to you, something’s up. The young man gave me a voucher for two at a dinner buffet at the Dorsett Hotel and immediately I was skeptical of his intentions. Seriously, it’s a free meal, sounding too good to be true. I don’t know what to do with it either. But Gavin suggested taking him along for the treat, in return, he would bodyguard me should some mishap arises. Bah, I would feel guilty tho. *sigh* Better lay it off and focus on the more important task at hand.

I just can’t wait for Friday to come. Forget about this mundane routine and get out of the city to a more historical place. It’s exactly three years since I last visited the A Famosa, the latest being a couple of months before Animangaki. We had the members going to GACC together for a fun weekend but this time, the company is UncleR and it’s for business reasons. However busy we’re gonna be, I pray there’ll be room for Jonker Street and those perfectly round chicken rice balls. Of course, I owe Gavin and Clarisse a sweet souvenir. That requires sacrificing some precious brain cells. Then again, I got ktsiong as my pacemaker. God knows that he’s gonna bring back from Bandung. That place’s a garden of red succulent apples just waiting for the right person to pluck them from the shelves. I don’t wanna admit that I’m on the losing end. Malacca is an interesting place, and old to that matter. There will be some treasures hiding and I just need to open my eyes wider. Plus, kt is a fickle-minded person, he will have trouble deciding I’m sure. And I’ll win this pressure test! Just you wait lover boy!

Q: I'd do all the stupidest thing just to make her laugh.

This is incredible. I have been constantly checking out the History Asia on the web to see the daily winners and to my surprise, my mom won today's prize! I am so happy for my parents. I did it out of boredom, lo behold, they are rewarded, even though it's just for some USD$50 voucher.

Mom has no idea yet but I believe she will be mighty loud. Congrats mom!
