Q: Why in their absences does the world appear?

Mommy told me that I ought to be really cautious with the world and its inhabitants. People are kind yet selfish, they buy things with money and they can buy you with words. They may use you and then when your importance vanished, so would they. With this in mind, I learned to count to ten before I pick a road at a fork. Walk slowly to see more clearly, and to take my time. Be wise, but don’t brag; be lethal, but not malicious. She is right in many ways.

So, I stayed low and modest like Daddy said I should be. Calm and collected is the way to go. To depend on one’s own strength rather than to depend on others and that reward comes to those who work for it. Get a fish to feed yourself a meal, learn to fish and you’ll feed yourself a lifetime. Don’t make excuses, and don’t give one; and don’t waste time. Stay true to your virtues and hold your principles close to the heart, never waver like the candle light. He is right in many ways.

You can see how they influenced me. Even as I grow older, I still carry these words in my bag. They whisper to me and sometimes loudly, screaming at the back of my head. Creeps the stuffing out of me and yet I know, these are words from my loving parents.

They are simply the best.
