Q: Why this new blog? The old one's not good enough?

I get that a lot from friends ever since I made the rather hesitant decision to lock my old journal. They get extremely frustrated that their accesses into my xanga account were disbelievingly denied and they ranted about it. They made things clear with you on the phone, through Skype, on Facebook, short text messages and often times, having it popped out of conversations in unexpected places. Honestly, I did not count the numbers of followers I have; nor do I keep track of the number of blogs I follow. Either way, I am very honored and flattered to have people around who care to read about the things I write. (Although most of them are plain crap anyway.)

I created this new blog on a basis of several reasons. Reasons that might not mean a thing to you, or they might sound irrelevant. But then again, this is MY blog, so if no one else gives a damn, you shouldn’t too.

Reason #1
Prior to leaving Malaysia, I read through many of the posts I put online. As I go through each of them thoroughly, there is an accumulated need in me, to leave them all behind. My childhood rants, teen angst, nonsensical wisdom and the many wonderful moments boxed up nicely with a ribbon and placed into the closet of a distant memory. They remained important, as a sign of progress and change in conscious. Basically, a great study material for future reference in the field of Psychology.

Reason #2
While I am still lovingly titled ywsmokona, I wish to remain mostly anonymous in this blog. Well, not as a way to get away from responsibility over the things I write or say, but it is just a sign that I have stalkers lah. WTH.

Reason #3
This new blog will work to my advantage as a journal pointing toward signs that I have reached a new turning point in life. The happenings in the US and the feelings I have left in Malaysia. This chapter deserves an equal attention and wishes to gain its significance. Also, my lecturer thinks writing a page a day will help improve writing skills. Let’s just hope he’s right.

Reason #4
I am trying to not procrastinate on my duties (though often so, shit happens) as my professor puts it; writing a blog post once every day will allow me to collect discipline habits and often so, the punishment includes placing a dollar into the donation box for the poor. Psychology can really give you the extra kick in the rear end on this. No kidding.

Reason #5
Twas all things new will give me that built-in reinforcer (layman term: motivation), I am able to put things into a much better perspective, and like the old Chinese saying goes, “new brooms sweep clean”. Well, I’ll try my best not to make blogging this time, just another honeymoon phrase.

First post so far!
