Q: Listen baby, just listen..

After one month of watching Family Outing Season 1, it finally ended for me. Korean culture, in general, most indefinitely grew on me overtime, especially since the introduction to Running Man. Its language, food, and celebrities are becoming salient elements and I have my mother and friends to thank for. I am never fading my interest in the Japanese culture, as it will forever remain my first love. Paid me well it did, because I came to make lifelong friends, gained significant entertainment value and developed a new set of language skills through it. It is a culture that walks alongside mine, so the Koreans are no doubt any different. They've upped my exposure on variety shows and pop music. I remembered hating the taste of kimchi, I probably would've remained distasteful of it, have I not learned its core ingredient. The Napa cabbage that I love to eat, especially when mom cooks it in soup form, is a kimchi's hearth. Now, horse forbid, should I see a good plate of kimchi, I'd probably wouldn't hesitate on getting that piece of thing in my mouth.

I've shaken hands (made peace) with Korean fans and have probably cheered "Dae Han Min Guhk" at the top of my lungs as well. I believe it shouldn't matter if you're black or white, or Asian. A culture is a share of respect, understanding, and a reason to celebrate what it means to be different.

Aigoo,
Vonnie S.
