The mother bird revisits her nest frequently, leaving it unprotected twenty minutes at the most. You can tell how resilient these delicate creatures are. She would sit there for the longest time even as the sun ray sting her feathers. In the nest, she laid two reddish and beige dappled eggs. And there I watched from the windows with my binoculars, in my khakis and a canteen slinging from my shoulder.
